Secondary School Rugby

Fingal in partnership with Leinster Rugby have developed a number of secondary school programmes. These include; tag rugby blitzes transition year programmes and teacher training programmes.

The secondary school initiative aims to introduce students to the basics skills of rugby firstly through tag during school PE session over a 5 week period finishing with a schools blitz on week 6 of the programme.

For schools that have completed the introduction course, the concept of contact rugby can be introduced and those schools will then have the opportunity to set up development teams or rugby 7s teams.
