It is vital to always remember that a farm is a workplace and not a playground. Animals, machinery and other dangers exist on a farm. 



Here's some tips to stay safe on a farm:


Always close farm gates. Animals can wander off or people could wander in, if the gates are left open.





Stay away from slurry pits. They can be very deep and are extremely dangerous.





Avoid open water and beware if walking near thrushes as they can be disguise the banks of a pond.





Be aware of tractors and other large machines. Never stand behind or in front of a tractor or large vehicles as you may not be seen. Always make sure the driver can see you. High visibility vests should be worn.





Farm animals can be dangerous and unpredictable. Always show respect and caution when around farm animals.
